Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster spent all season dancing and trolling on social media, but the Cleveland Brown shad the last laugh, coming out on top when it mattered most.
Smith-Schuster’s comments leading up to the Steelers-Browns NFL Super Wild Card round matchup was the big talking point. When asked about this years’ Browns team, JuJu referred to them as “nameless ray faces”, going further to suggest “the Browns is the Browns”.
The comments weren’t the real reason Cleveland defeated Pittsburgh 48-37 on Sunday. It was their first playoff game since 2002, and the star-studded line-up rose to the occasion. Baker Mayfield was only pressured on 19.4% of his drop backs and released the ball at an average of 2.34seconds, which was good for the fastest of any QB in the six playoff games this past weekend.
Cleveland’s first playoff victory resulted from the five Pittsburgh turnovers, including a first-snap fumble and interception in the first quarter with the Browns up 28-0 at the quarter.
This isn’t the same Browns team, though, because the Browns we know would have thrown away that lead immediately.
