NFL MVP favorite Aaron Rodgers wants a new contract to stay at Green Bay

January 27, 2021

The media has run wild with speculation concerning Aaron Rodgers future in Green Bay following post-game comments. Aaron Rodgers squashed the suggestions that he was considering retirement during his weekly spot on The Pat McAfee Show’.

Rodgers has opened up throughout the season, thanks to the outlet with Pat McAfee and the boys. Rodgers hasn’t shied away from speaking the truth and sharing his views during the conversation.

It’s been a pleasant surprise for fans and as Rodgers said during this week’s show “I don’t think people are used to hearing the truth from athletes, and when they hear the truth it’s so surprising at times.”

Truth-telling aside, the contract talks are warranted by the QB who is expected to be crowned this season’s MVP. In 2018,Green Bay and Rodgers signed a four-year extension worth $134 million. This puts the Green Bay QB Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, and Jared Goff in average contract-value.

Given his MVP talent, it’s hard to argue against Aaron Rodgers wanting a $39-45 million contract to stay in Green Bay with Matt LaFleur.
