Los Angeles Lakersin NBA Finals After 10 Years, Thanks to LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers reached the NBA finalsafter 10 years, with their victory over the Denver Nuggets. The score was 117 to 107, giving the Lakers to 4 - 1 win in the best of 7 series.
LeBron James produced a triple-double, scoring 16 points in the third quarter out of 38, along with 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Although James has been in the NBA finals 10 times, this is his first time with the Lakers.
The Lakers will play the winner of the Eastern Conference final between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. The Heat are leading 3-2 so far with the 6th game to be played on Monday.
The Lakers have been in the NBA Finals championship series 32 times before, the most recent was when the recently deceased, Kobe Bryant, led them against the Celtics. James paid tribute to Bryant who met his premature death in a tragic helicopter crash last January. In his speech he said that wearing the purple and gold reminded him of his legacy and the value Bryant had given to the NBL franchise for over 20 years.
