The English Premier League is currently the sole home of the English Premier League in the Canadian market, thanks to FuboTV, the parent company of bookmaker Fubo Gaming.
The contract will last for the following three seasons, beginning in 2022/2023.
FuboTV will broadcast all 380 Premier League matches per season as part of the deal; all material will be streamed live on both FuboTV and its linear channel, Fubo Sports Network. The deal's other details were kept under wraps.
"The Premier League is considered to be the best football league in the world and has a tremendous fan following in Canada," said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV.
"With this arrangement, we'll be able to bring yet another top-tier property to FuboTV, further differentiating our content offering and giving Canadians even another reason to cut the cord for thrilling, exclusive sports content," says the company.
"The Premier League is very thrilled to work with FuboTV in Canada," said Paul Molnar, Chief Media Officer of the Premier League. We know there are a lot of die-hard Premier League fans in Canada, so we're thrilled that FuboTV considers the Premier League to be such an important part of its programming mix in this market.
“We look forward to working together to bring the excitement of the Premier League to both new and existing fans.”
FuboTV just secured exclusive Serie A and Coppa Italia rights for the Canadian market, bolstering its position as a football streaming provider.
FuboTV has exclusive streaming rights to the South American qualifying matches for the Qatar World Cup 2022, in addition to the football rights in Canada.
Over a dozen major sports and entertainment channels, including OneSoccer and Paramount Network, are available on FuboTV.
