Team Liquid, a global esports organisation, has announced a collaboration with Hercules Tires, a tyre manufacturer.
The Hercules Tires Invitational Series, a Rocket League tournament featuring North American teams, will be created because of the agreement between Hercules Tires and Team Liquid.
The Hercules Tires Invitational Series will pit 16 Rocket League teams from across North America against each other in a two-part tournament that will begin on October 20th. Participants include G2 Esports, Torrent, XSET, Charlotte Phoenix, and Oxygen Esports.
Steve Reed, Team Liquid Vice President of Sales, commented: “We’re revved up and eager to bring this event to life with Hercules, a legacy brand known for its quality and reliability.
“They are a natural fit for this series, where speed and precision can make a real difference in how things play out.”
Team liquid’s channel will put on a live stream of the series where viewers can see the winners receiving $12,000 (£8826) in prize money. Hercules Tyres will also offer sponsored chatbox giveaways and a virtual tailgate, according to the press release.
Senior VP of Hercules, Joshua Simpson, explained: “Our partnership with Team Liquid will further the progress we are making to expand our brand in authentic and meaningful ways across new platforms.
“It also showcases our commitment to engage new consumers – including a new generation that participate in gaming as a form of competition – and to build relationships through a digitally-focused platform.”
A Rocket League competition is a wonderful thing to sponsor if you're a tyre manufacturer, according to Esports Insider. It's always exciting to see non-endemic corporations collaborate with relevant esports, and the automobile industry has recently completely embraced the scene through several agreements.
