Louisiana sports betting is coming.
The most recent snag appears to be more revisions clarifying how tax income will be distributed. Gov. John Bell Edwards' tax measure, HB 697, is already on his desk. Its partner, the Senate Bill, needs one more House vote to be completed.
Once everything is in place, sports betting will be available in 55 of the state's 64 parishes. In addition, casinos will have retail sportsbooks, betting kiosks inside bars and restaurants will be run by the lottery, and Internet sports betting will be available.
This is a slight holdup for them; as soon as they get it sorted, they are set to go. It is hoped that sports betting will be up and running before the start of the 2021 NFL season in September.
Nobody wants to miss out on the best betting season in the United States.
